Diazepam is a prescription/controlled substance commonly known as Valium. It belongs to a class of medications called benzodiazepines, which are primarily used to alleviate anxiety and convulsions. Diazepam works by slowing the influence of a neurotransmitter in the brain called GABA. This leads in a soothing effect, reducing feelings of stress and
